ScholarAbout NS

California Community Colleges represent the largest higher education system in the world. CCCs serve over 2.7 million students each year, including twenty-five percent of all community college students in the United States. Sixty percent of CSU and thirty percent of UC graduates attend a CCC.

New Scholar is the first and only journal devoted to publishing original research, criticism and analysis from these students. NS selects submissions for publication through a rigorous process including peer review and editorial oversight.

The journal is housed at Mt. San Jacinto College where both students and faculty are involved in the editorial and review process, the maintenance of the journal and website and other publishing responsibilities.
